The vice-president of the CNE, Fernando Mazanga, says he is ashamed to be part of the National Electoral Commission (CNE) because of the body's ability to commit "cinematic" electoral fraud.
Quoted by O País and STV, the Renamo party member said in an interview that in the October 11 elections, the deceitful maneuvers were so serious compared to those of previous years. During his years of experience, he has never seen such a theft of votes, he said.
Mazanga says that there is blatant tampering with data to favor Frelimo and considers these elections to be the most fraudulent the country has ever had.
In his view, the electoral authorities should immediately stop releasing election results.
However, Mazanga says he can't do anything to change the situation because the CNE's decisions take votes into account, meaning that although he always votes against some decisions, there are other votes in favor.
