Venâncio Mondlane, the presidential candidate who is leading the biggest challenge to the election results in Mozambique since the country's first elections, said today that he will announce, next Friday, the measures for the first 100 days of his rule as president elected by the people.
"On Friday, at 3pm, I will indicate the measures for the first 100 days of governance of the current mandate as president elected by the people. On that day, I will indicate the government measures for the first 100 days of the mandate," said Venâncio Mondlane, via his Facebook page.
According to Mondlane, these measures will be extended to all sectors of activity and to the new Frelimo government. "These measures, both the public sector will want to comply with, as well as the private sector, including the president pushed by the Constitutional Council. We're also going to indicate how the people will position themselves in the face of these measures that I'm going to make known on Friday," he said.
Daniel Chapo "hijacked" Venancio's governance program
Reacting to the inauguration of Daniel Chapo as President of the Republic, Mondlane said: "today we had an inauguration of a candidate who was not elected, but rather, appointed by the Constitutional Council". "Today I gained a new student. And indeed, 95% of the measures announced today by the candidate for his governance program were exactly the same as those I announced during the election campaign. So he's still a good student, since even during the campaign he was imitating me," he added.
Later on, Venâncio Mondlane criticized Daniel Chapo's speech for not making any progress on how he intends to end corruption in the country. "We are seeing that we are going to have a mandate from this ruler, in which the greatest art that will be exhibited by this government will be that of cheating. All the measures that I indicated, which are fundamental for the country, he has imitated, he has skipped them. But there were several measures that I indicated to fight corruption, but he didn't mention any of them, so we have a government of hucksters," he concluded.
