On Monday, presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane accused the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the government and the Frelimo party of being "the real terrorists".

She was speaking to journalists during protests against alleged electoral fraud and in repudiation of the murder of lawyer and trustee Elvino Dias and Podemos party spokesman Paulo Guambe.

According to Venâncio Mondlane, it was clear "where the problem is in this country", which wants to allow demonstrations in repudiation of murders.

"The problem in this country is not with the people, the so-called vandals. The real vandalism lies with the leadership of the Defense and Security Forces," said Mondlane, accusing them of lacking civic and political awareness.

"This is worse than a state of war. These are the real terrorists. I think that in Cabo Delgado we have insurgents. The FDS leadership is where we have the real terrorists in this country," he said.
