Officials from the Civil Identification Directorate, Beira City delegation, in Sofala, have been accused by users of illicit charges for issuing identity cards.
According to users of the civil identification service in the city of Beira, officials demand money from applicants for the document so that they don't have to queue.
As Radio Mozambique reports, quoting users in the city, the amounts charged under the scheme vary from 50 to 200 meticais.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Provincial Civil Identification Service, Miguel Navaia, made it known that the institution condemns this attitude and called on users to denounce officials involved in acts of corruption.
