The decision was taken during the II Ordinary Session of the Academic Council, recently held in the city of Nampula, under the chairmanship of rector Mário Jorge Brito dos Santos, who urged the members of the body to maintain a posture of strategic reflection and academic rigor in the face of the challenges facing Mozambican higher education.

“The decisions we make over these two days will shape the future of our institution. We need to innovate, plan rigorously and act responsibly, always with the commitment to offer our users an education of excellence that has a social impact,” said the rector.

According to the approved proposal, the training will be designed to respond to the dynamics of maritime trade and the modernization of the Nacala logistics corridor, one of the most strategic economic axes in Mozambique and the southern region of Africa.

During the meeting, the rector called on the proposers and the curriculum committees to ensure that the new courses are based on detailed studies that identify advantages, challenges and social relevance.
