An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0, for which there was no warning, struck central Japan today, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency, quoted by the international press.
The earthquake occurred in the sea about 60 kilometers west of the island of Sado, in central Japan. The earthquake shook part of the coast of the Sea of Japan and, in particular, the same area that was devastated on January 1st by the 7.6 magnitude earthquake that killed more than 200 people.
According to the authorities, the earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers, hit the central region of the country and was recorded at 17:59 (10:59 Maputo time).
