Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) will award an honorary doctorate to the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, for his achievements in the areas of biodiversity and climate change, reports Rádio Moçambique, citing a publication in the Bulletin of the Republic.
The same bulletin, which is dated September 2, highlights the key role of the Head of State in advocating in front of regional and international decision-makers for the implementation of effective measures to conserve and mitigate the effects of climate change.
The document also highlights the Government Group's leadership in seeking partnerships to combat sea pollution, the implementation of legal reforms in the area of biodiversity, and programs that have resulted in the mitigation of climate change effects. (RM)
