The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, defended on Thursday afternoon in Brussels, a mutually advantageous cooperation between Europe and Africa.
Filipe Nyusi was speaking this Thursday in Brussels at a high-level panel, organized by the European Corporate Council, under the theme "African Leaders for Change", a meeting framed within the Africa-Europe Summit.
On the occasion, the Mozambican statesman, quoted by Domingo newspaper, said that future developments on both continents, including in the economic sphere are closely linked. "Therefore, working together in an equal partnership is in the interest of both sides, exchanging valuable opportunities, but also challenges."
Among several challenges, he pointed to the need to move from rhetoric to action, that is, to start seeing concrete results from what was agreed upon at the end of each summit.
"Partnership presupposes that we treat each other as equals, showing mutual respect, even when we do not converge in the way we approach issues," said the Mozambican Head of State adding that: "We note with satisfaction the interest that European countries have in cooperating with Africans, because, they recognize that the African continent is no longer what you talk about, but who you talk to."
