On Wednesday, Twitter became the first social network to allow advertising for cannabis brands and products in the United States.
Elon Musk's company previously allowed products derived from the cannabis plant and CBD to be advertised, while platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok continue to prohibit it.
In a statement quoted by Notícias ao Minuto, Twitter announced that it has given the 'green light' to advertising by companies that have a license to sell these products and that pass its approval process.
However, brands should not advertise beyond the areas where they have a license to operate, nor to people under the age of 21.
