The continuity of João Chissano as head coach of the Clube Ferroviário de Maputo soccer team will not materialize, according to the portal Challenge, quoting an official locomotive source.
Chissano's contract will be derailed because the coach didn't meet the club's expectations when it hired him in 2022.
For next season, Ferroviário de Maputo should hire a coach of Portuguese nationality, with the aim of making a prominent return to the national soccer scene, writes the portal.
The Green and Whites ended the season in eighth place in the Mozambola, being eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Mozambique Cup by Associação Desportiva de Vilankulo with a 3-0 defeat.
Ferroviário were also eliminated from the Afro Cups in the play-offs for access to the Group Stage, falling to Angola's Sagrada Esperança.
