Travel Awards 2021: Portugal collects 26 awards at the "Tourism Oscars

Portugal won, this Friday, 26 awards at the 28th edition of the World Travel Awards, considered the "Tourism Oscar", and the highlights are the Algarve, Azores and Madeira.

According to the official note from World Travel Awords, the Algarve was elected "Europe's Best Beach Destination"; the Azores were distinguished as "Europe's Leading Adventure Tourism Destination"; and Madeira revalidates its title as "Europe's Best Island Destination".

There are several other awards, for example, the Paiva Passages, recognized with two awards, and TAP Air Portugal that won once again as "The Best Airline Flying to Africa and South America". The Port of Lisbon, for the seventh consecutive time, is "The Best Cruise Port in Europe".

Portugal was also distinguished for tourism projects such as the Arouca Suspension Bridge, considered "The Best Tourist Attraction Development Project"; and the Dark Sky Alqueva revalidated the "Responsible Tourism" title (together with Spain).

The awards given to Portugal are the result of online voting, open to the public and thousands of tourism and travel professionals from around the world.
