Tivoli Hotels and Resorts opens a hotel in China for the first time

Tivoli Hotels & Resorts announces the recent opening of the Tivoli Chengdu in the Cultural Heritage Park, in the capital of the Sichuan province of Chengdu, China. This is the first Tivoli brand hotel in Asia, which the chain considers to be an "important milestone in its expansion strategy"..

The opening of Tivolu in China results from a partnership with Chengdu Urban and Rural Construction Development Company, Qingyang Limited. The 201-room luxury property is located in the International Intangible Cultural Heritage Park in Chengdu.

"While leisure tourists enjoy direct access to the park's exhibition halls, built specifically to showcase the cultures of the world, business travelers benefit from the proximity of Chengdu Shuangliu Airport, located just 19 kilometers away, and the hotel's modern meeting and event facilities," says the statement from the Minor group chain, quoted by the newspaper Económico.

The investment in this hotel has not been advanced.

Tivoli Hotels & Resorts is part of Minor Hotels and manages 16 hotels in Portugal, Brazil, Qatar and now China.

The Tivoli Chengdu at Cultural Heritage Park is a building "designed to resemble an extensive golden scroll," says the hotel chain.

In the description the hotel unit fits the commonly called "Asian luxury": "The property is framed in a lush environment of verdant nature. In the imposing lobby, long hibiscus pillars and clay artworks aim to bring the natural landscapes of Chengdu into the hotel, while the spacious rooms in soothing tones and luxurious furnishings create a deeply relaxing atmosphere. Spanning 75 square meters, the exclusive Tivoli rooms offer ample space and a sense of luxury enhanced by nature-inspired artwork, such as the handmade butterfly on the bed, chosen for its symbolism and connotation of good luck," Tivoli said in a statement.

"Chengdu, the thriving cultural and commercial capital of Sichuan province, has a very dynamic travel industry thanks to its mild climate, diverse historical attractions, typical cuisine and world-renowned giant panda research and breeding base. Opening the door to these exciting urban experiences, Tivoli Chengdu will present an exclusive collection of Tivoli moments, promoting the discovery of the most authentic local culture," according to the statement.

With six different dining spaces, gastronomy is one of the great highlights of the Tivoli Chendgu experience.

"Casa de Fados, the first Portuguese restaurant in Chengdu, will host a European-style Sunday brunch, as well as serving Mediterranean meals with an emphasis on seafood and accompanied by fine wines daily, on a bright terrace surrounded by a garden. Another exclusive place is the Chinese restaurant Tihong, designed as a lively space for families, where customers can enjoy dim sum and contemporary Cantonese and Szechuan dishes prepared with ingredients sourced from Chengdu and its surroundings," says the group, adding that the restaurant has 11 private dining rooms named after prose poems written by Chengdu's great native poet, Sima Xiangru.

"At Café 1933, with its all-day dining concept, chefs prepare exquisite dishes from around the world, with a focus on Southeast Asian specialties. The Lobby Lounge, with its vibrant atmosphere, offers lighter, more casual Western-style dining, with an emphasis on a selection of premium teas served in the classic lobby tea room. In one of the Lobby Lounge areas is the Mr. Fun Bakery House which offers fun family experiences with baking sessions and hands-on chocolate workshops. Family picnic proposals are also available to enjoy in the gardens or at the Chengdu Cultural Heritage Park. Not to be missed at Tivoli Chengdu are the sunset celebrations at the Sky Bar, which offers panoramic views of the park and a selection of classic cocktails," details the Minor chain.

In turn, there is an outdoor playground with an area of 800 square meters, which has babysitting services, in addition to offering accommodation and an exclusive menu for pets and a large games area.

"Among the hotel's many facilities highlight a fully equipped health center, the renowned Anantara Spa, and a swimming pool that will open soon. With a large 2,275 square meter event hall and coffee breaks with historical themes, the Tivoli Chengdu is organized to host events of various sizes and styles. The huge lawn, with 3,650 square meters, is perfect for weddings and outdoor social celebrations," details the note.
