Electric car maker Tesla will recall more than 107,000 cars manufactured in China due to an overheating issue with the "infotainment" system. The information was made known through a statement shared by China's market regulator.
In total, there are 107,239 electrics involved in this recall, namely Model 3 and Model Y made between October 2021 and April 2022.
The statement quoted by the newspaper Negócios, details that this "recall" due to safety fears that may result from excessive heating of this unit, which allows control a good part of the functions of Tesla. The same note states that this constraint may be resolved through a software update, which can be done remotely.
In addition to the "recall", Reuters also reported that Tesla has postponed plans to return to production at pre-refinement levels in Shanghai. This information is advanced taking into account an internal memo, which states that this postponement could be at least one week.
Elon Musk's electric maker reportedly plans to return to a daily production of 2,600 cars at the Shanghai plant. So even with the end of the Shanghai lockdown, Tesla is expected to maintain plans for 1,200 units per day.
