The Governor of Cabo delgado province defends the need to reinforce the control of vehicles and people circulating on the province's roads.
Speaking this Tuesday in Pemba, at the opening of the twelfth ordinary session of the provincial Executive Council, Valige Tauabo, said that the measure aims to avoid situations that endanger the welfare of the population, especially at this time when the province has been plagued by terrorist attacks.
He clarified that the control of vehicles in the province is in order to neutralize the infiltration of terrorists in the communities. Cited by Radio Mozambique, Tauabo said there are cases in which it is necessary to use military columns.
The Governor of Cabo Delgado, who calls for calm, serenity, and increased vigilance from the population, says that despite the occurrence of sporadic outbreaks of terrorist attacks in recent weeks, the overall situation in the province is described as calm.
