Terrorismo/Cabo Delgado: Ruanda reafirma apoio no combate e inaugura escola construída por suas tropas

Rwanda will continue its efforts to support the Mozambican state in the fight against terrorism in Cabo Delgado province, according to Major General Alex Kagame.

The brother of Paul Kagame - the recently re-elected President of Rwanda with more than 99% of the vote - resumed his appointment this Monday in the community of Namalala, in the district of Mocímboa da Praia. He is the commander of the Rwandan military mission in Cabo Delgado. Alex Kagame was speaking as part of the inauguration of an elementary school built by the Rwandan army in the light of philanthropic actions, reports Rádio Moçambique.

On that occasion, he said that his country was still committed to putting more resources into ending terrorism in that Mozambican territory.

"Mozambique and Rwanda are friendly countries, including our presidents. It's important that we are friends. That's why we want to ensure that we continue our efforts to put an end to the terrorists," he said.

He was encouraged by the fact that the population was accepting his troops.

"I want to thank the people of Cabo Delgado for showing their affection for our soldiers," he said, noting that they are always greeted wherever they go. "That makes us very happy".
