Tropical Storm Dikeledi could wipe out southern Mozambique this evening 

Tempestade tropical Dikeledi pode arrasar o sul de Moçambique ao cair da tarde de hoje 

The National Meteorological Institute (INAM) is warning that tropical storm Dikeledi will enter the Mozambique Channel in the early hours of this morning.

The phenomenon could cause intense rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms with winds of almost 90 km/h. The storm could generate sea waves of up to seven meters high in Cana de Moçambique.

The bad weather will hit the country's southern provinces.

In Maputo province, the alert goes out to the districts of Matutuine, Namaacha, Boane, Moamba, Magude, Manhiça, Marracuene, the cities of Maputo and Matola.

The rains are expected to affect the districts of Massingir, Chókwe, Chonguene, Bilene, Limpopo, Mandlakazi, Chicualacuala, Mapai, Mabalane, Chigubo, Chibuto, Guijá, Chongoene and the town of Xai-Xai, in Gaza.

In Inhambane, the districts of Zavala, Inharrime, Panda, Funhalouro and Mabote will be affected.
