The Mozambican authorities reported on Thursday that the tropical depression located east of Madagascar, which has evolved into a moderate tropical storm and has been named "Eleanor", will influence the country's temperatures, especially in the central and northern provinces.
According to the National Meteorological Institute (INAM), this system will cause moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Zambézia.
According to INAM, this is due to the storm's interaction with the low pressure system formed in the Mozambique Channel.
"Projections indicate that the storm will weaken over the next few days to a moderate Tropical Storm and by Sunday, it could become a tropical depression and move towards colder regions," the organization explained in a statement.
