MozParks took part this week in the Turkey - Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF 2025) in Istanbul, as part of the Mozambican business delegation to present its industrial development model and expansion strategy to international investors and decision-makers..
During the panel "Financing Africa's Infrastructure Needs: The Turkish Build-Operate-Transfer Experience as a Model for Infrastructure Development in Africa", the Chairman of the Board, Adrian Frey, explained how MozParks is developing a national network of 20 industrial parks aimed at attracting investment, creating jobs and promoting value addition within Mozambique.
Frey highlighted the Beluluane Industrial Park as a proven model of success, which hosts more than 70 companies, generates 10,000 direct jobs and guarantees income for more than 100,000 people. The same concept is now being expanded to Cabo Delgado, where the Provincial Government has adopted a legal framework that requires suppliers and service providers of oil, gas and mining projects to operate from industrial parks.
"An industrial park is, in essence, an ecosystem: it connects investors to opportunities, suppliers to markets and people to jobs," said Frey. "This new framework is a milestone for Mozambique. It ensures that major projects generate true local content by sourcing domestically produced goods and services, while industrial parks ensure the structure, standards and oversight that make this possible."
According to Frey, the Cabo Delgado Parks initiative, developed in partnership with the provincial government, includes four industrial parks and two logistics bases designed to accommodate suppliers, manufacturers and SMEs linked to the extractive sector. "Together, they are part of a broader effort to decentralize industrial growth and transform the wealth of Mozambique's natural resources into sustainable, long-term economic opportunities," he said.
MozParks' participation in TABEF reflects Mozambique's growing presence on international investment platforms and reinforces the country's commitment to building an industrial base based on local participation, regional integration and sustainable development.
