The Secretary of State for Industry and Trade, António Grispos, highlights the energy, agriculture and infrastructure sectors as pillars for bilateral cooperation between Mozambique and Turkey, inviting local business to expand investment in the Nacala, Beira and Maputo logistics corridors..
According to the government official, who was speaking during a meeting of industry and trade ministers from the African continent as part of the Turkey-Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF 2025), the logistics infrastructures and transport corridors linking Mozambique to regional markets are an excellent opportunity for Turkish business.
"We invite Turkish companies to participate in the development of ports, roads, energy plants and logistics corridors," said Grispos, stressing that these sectors represent long-term opportunities for Turkish investors and industrial partners.
According to an AIM publication, the president presented a clear vision for the future of economic relations between Maputo and Ankara, stressing the importance of cooperation based on technological transfer, industrial development and regional integration, and reaffirming his commitment to deepening strategic economic partnerships and attracting Turkish investment in priority sectors such as energy, agriculture, industry and logistics.
He went on to highlight Mozambique's energy potential, focusing on natural resources and opportunities for investment in infrastructure. "Mozambique has gas, hydropower, solar and wind energy, which represent great potential for industrial cooperation."
In addition to energy, agriculture is also a strategic area, with interest in agricultural modernization, irrigation, fertilizer production and agro-processing. "We are enthusiastic about deepening cooperation with Turkey in these areas," he said.
For his part, Turkey's Trade Minister Ömer Bolat reaffirmed his government's commitment to Africa, setting a target of increasing the volume of bilateral trade to 40 billion dollars in the coming years.
"We are building a new generation of partnerships based on mutual respect, industrial cooperation and shared prosperity," said Bolat.
