The Swiss government will disburse over 600 million meticals for the implementation of the third phase of the Transparent Governance Program for Water, Sanitation and Health, over the next 4 years, in Niassa.

The amount will be used for the construction of water and sanitation infrastructures and the promotion of Education, in the districts of Chimbonila, Lago, Sanga, Lichinga, Mandimba, Metarica, and Mecanhelas.

Given the challenges encountered in phases 1 and 2 of the project, the senior official of the Swiss Embassy in Mozambique, Fernando Pililão, appealed to the government to comply with the prescriptions of the bilateral agreement, so as not to incur the risk of losing funding.

"We have noticed the use of vehicles for purposes that are not intended and we think that should be corrected, for example, we also see that some activities that must go through a visa from the administrative court is not being met that requirement and are norms of the state itself, we do not bring norms from the Swiss embassy, we follow nomas. What we have to do is strengthen our level of risk assessment," he said.
