The process of running for President of the Republic in next October's seventh general election will take place between May 13 and June 10 of this year.

The information was provided yesterday (8.01) by the National Electoral Commission (CNE), during a meeting it held with the political parties.

Meanwhile, Lucas José, from the CNE, said that "the dates indicated for the start and end of activities constitute maximum time limits" and that the electoral deadlines include Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

At the end of this process, the President of the Constitutional Council will post a list of the candidates who have been selected to contest the presidential elections on the door of the Constitutional Council building.

The electoral campaign phase will run from August 24 to October 6, but will first be preceded by the process of financing political parties.
