Musician Stewart Sukuma became the first Mozambican to join The Recording Academy, an organization responsible for curating the Grammy Awards, the world's largest music awards event.
Stewart Sukuma revealed that the organization invited him to be part of the class of 2022, made up of more than 2,700 music professionals.
Thus, Mozambican musicians now have the right to vote and suggest works for the Grammy Award, and also to compete for a position on the academy's committee, vote, participate in exclusive programs, and support colleagues through advocacy.
"When I say never give up, one day we will make it to the Grammys, for now I will celebrate the invitation, accepted, to be part of The Recording Academy," the artist wrote on social media.
