The Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) said today that all the country's provinces have already received the voting materials, including some that have already been allocated to certain districts.
"In the districts we already have all the stationary material, such as ballot boxes, booths and metal suitcases. There are also the voting boxes, which contain all the material for the polling station, the minutes, notices and ballot papers. It's all in boxes, properly sealed and stored in the district warehouses, in the custody of the head of the operations sector, as well as the technicians from the political parties represented in the Assembly of the Republic," said Regina Matsinhe, spokesperson for STAE.
The distribution of this material, as well as that of the polling station staff, will still take place until Tuesday, due to the accessibility of the routes to reach the destinations. For some locations, tractors or boats will be used.
Twelve of Sofala's 13 districts have already received the materials, with the city of Beira still to go. Seven districts of Inhambane, Govuro, Inhassoro, Mabote, Zavala, Inhassoro, Massinga and Vilankulo have already received materials, with another seven yet to receive them.
In the case of Cabo Delgado province, Matsinhe said that everything was being taken care of so that the material could reach the conflict zones by alternative means.
"The province has already received the materials. And the materials for the districts will be distributed using alternative means," he said.
The Chiúre district, the largest constituency in the province, has already received the materials.
Abroad, voting materials have already arrived in some countries, and the distribution process may continue until voting day. "We still don't have precise information at this point...". (Sources: RM and STV)
