The death toll from political persecution has risen to 12 since the start of the demonstrations on October 21 called by the politician, Venâncio Mondlane.

According to data from the Decide Platform, the victims have been individuals with political links to the opposition, specifically PODEMOS and Venâncio Mondlane.

The most recent cases are of the Delegate in Búzi and the Journalist in Nampula.

The cases have yet to be clarified by the police.
