Seven people have died in Sofala this rainy season due to lightning strikes.

In addition to the deaths, the lightning strikes recorded in the towns of Metuchira, Bebedo and Chirassicua reduced 10 precariously built houses to ashes.

The administrator of the Nhamatanda district, Adamo Ossumane, quoted by RM, called the situation worrying, pointing out that lightning strikes have become a constant threat in recent days.
