On Monday afternoon (24), the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) in Maputo city incinerated 90 kilos of cocaine and precursor liquid at the landfill in the Moamba district, in Maputo province, in the south of the country.

This is the drug seized last Wednesday (19) in the city of Maputo, camouflaged inside 446 boxes of deodorants, as well as precursor liquid, which would be used to make cocaine.

Quoted by AIM, SERNIC spokesman Hilário Lole said that investigations were underway to determine the exact origin and final destination of the drugs.

"So far, two individuals have been neutralized, but we have indications of more members involved in this organized crime. We believe that we will announce the neutralization of these elements in due course," said the spokesman.

The source added that efforts are underway to neutralize the remaining gang members involved in drug trafficking.

"We already have information about the triangles of the final destination of the drugs, but we can't yet go any further with the details of this investigation," he concluded.
