A 39-year-old man has been arrested in the city of Beira, Sofala province, on charges of kidnapping.

The spokesman for the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) in that province, Alfeu Sitoe, explained that the arrest of the alleged kidnapper was the result of an arrest warrant issued by the Sofala Provincial Court.

Quoted by the newspaper Domingo, Alfeu Sitoe added that this individual joins his now-imprisoned partner on suspicion of having served as a guard in the captivity that was dismantled in the Dondo district. Alfeu Sitoe also said that as a guard, the accused benefited from 170,000 Meticais.
