On Saturday, in the city of Nampula, the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) presented two citizens accused of sexual rape.

The News reports that one of the young men, 24, also allegedly proposed to a 13-year-old girl who had recently taken part in the initiation rites.

The family of the young man and the girl would have authorized the union and performed the Nikai, a religious act for professors of Islam, which is a recognized religious marriage.
