The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) dismantled, on Monday morning, three residences used as captives and arrested four citizens indicted for the crime of kidnapping in Maputo city.
According to SERNIC, in Maputo province, of the residences that were held as captives, one is located in the Triunfo neighborhood and two in the Coop neighborhood. The four individuals are accused of three kidnappings that occurred in Maputo city in October last year and February this year.
"They are involved in more than five kidnappings, two that occurred on 07 October 2021 against a doctor by profession, a businessman manager of the Takdir restaurant, and in December against a citizen who is an employee of the Portuguese embassy in Mozambique," said SERNIC spokesman in Maputo province, Henriques Mendes.
