Drought: Eleven thousand families receive assistance

Around 11,000 households affected by the drought in the south and center of the country will receive assistance from the National Institute for Social Action (INAS), starting in March, as part of the anticipated response to this climatic phenomenon, writes the News

According to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Action, these are families identified in the districts of Caia and Chemba, in Sofala; Changara and Marara, in Tete; Chibuto, Guijá, Mabalane, Mapai and Massingir, in Gaza province.

These regions could be hit hardest by the lack of rainfall this season, due to the occurrence of the natural phenomenon El Niño.
