In an interview with the STV channel, Samora Machel Júnior once again attacked and said that there were infiltrators in Frelimo who had gained positions and led the party president down paths he had never taken before.

This is the second time in less than a month that the member of the Central Committee of the Frelimo party has appeared in public taking a very critical stance towards Frelimo.

"The party's situation is not good. We, as a party, have to see how we can improve our internal situation. It's not very good. We have infiltrated members, members who have entered the party with a process that is not very well defined," he began during the interview with STV.

"Today, some of them have risen to positions within the party, who put themselves close to the President and ended up taking the President down paths that we never had before in the party," he said.

Samora Machel Júnior said in the course of the interview that it was during the times of crisis that the country went through (hidden debts, storms and Covid 19) that "these so-called infiltrators rose to positions of importance and influenced many internal processes in the party".

Regarding the letter he wrote criticizing the actions of the police and his party, he said it was not the first time he had done so and said it was a way of making his contribution to the party.

On the subject of the elections, which has provoked reactions from various personalities, the son of Mozambique's first president says that something didn't go right in these elections and "as a society, we need to look at the situation, talk about it and resolve it because we can't go from a situation like this to a new one. Until we resolve this situation, we're going to have problems," he warned.
