SADC deploys 16 teams of election observers for the October 9 elections

For the next General Elections, Mozambique will host 16 teams of election observers deployed by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to observe the vote on October 9.

According to Radio MozambiqueThe teams will start arriving in the country in mid-September. They will be dispersed throughout the country, including Cabo Delgado province.

The SADC electoral observation mission will pay special attention to the provinces where the four candidates for President of the Republic originate, as well as the largest and most contested constituencies.

The SADC Electoral Council met with journalists this Thursday in Maputo to assess the pre-election political and security situation, the legal framework, as well as the preparation and readiness of the electoral bodies.
