Former Frelimo Secretary General Roque Silva has been appointed non-executive director of Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB), a company source has confirmed. 

Roque Silva has a degree in Public Administration and worked for the Ministry of State Administration and Civil Service, where he was deputy minister until he was dismissed by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, on October 6, 2017. That same year he took over as Frelimo's Secretary General, below only the party's president, Filipe Nyusi, in the internal hierarchy.

Roque Silva has already served as administrator of the Manjacaze district in Gaza.
