Renamo today is a voiceless party, according to Lourenço do Rosário

Renamo hoje é um partido sem voz, segundo Lourenço do Rosário

Renamo has become a voiceless party, according to the academic and senior member of the Frelimo party, Lourenço do Rosário.

Speaking in an interview with STV, he said that after the death of President Afonso Dhlakama, Renamo was weakened.

"It's very weakened. It has no voice. Dhlakama was lucid, coherent, and explained things," he said, despite the fact that some proposals or demands "were quite emotional".

Because of his qualities as an experienced leader, Do Rosário said it was difficult to replace leaders like Dlhakama.

On the other hand, the university lecturer believes that the current leaderships of the parties with parliamentary seats are experiencing a crisis of internal democracy.

"[As a member of a party] I have to have the prerogative to criticize," he said, noting that "people [today] have no confidence in political parties."
