Recently, RENAMO members have vandalized and closed down provincial offices, even demanding the resignation of local leaders. However, this approach to resolving disputes displeases the party's top management.
In this regard, Renamo spokesman Marcial Macome calls on members who have issues to raise to follow the channels established in the political formation.
"Any situation of discomfort or disagreement should be resolved within the party's organs. We have to understand that institutions work with bodies. If someone has a problem, they have to present it so that the best way to resolve it can be found. You don't get anywhere with radical stances, like closing down delegations," he said, quoted by the News.
He pointed to the party's demobilized members as the ones behind the acts of vandalism at the delegations.
"Some of the people in these actions are Renamo members and demobilized. We no longer have guerrillas, we have demobilized people. Those who identify themselves as guerrillas mean that they haven't yet demobilized. They are represented in the Political Commission, through the Association of Combatants in the Struggle for Democracy (ACOLDE)," he explained.
He said that the party's central leadership had not yet been informed of the vandalizations.
