The Resistência Nacional Moçambicana (Renamo) and the Movimento Democrático de Moçambique (MDM), the two largest opposition political parties to the Frente de Libertação de Moçambique (Frelimo), have announced that they are joining forces to share information on the country's ongoing electoral census.

According to Ismael, Nhacucué, spokesperson for the MDM, who shared the information with the press in an assessment of the first week of the census, the decision to share information is the result of a dialog between the leaders of the two parties.

Renamo and the MDM will also jointly allocate inspectors and share all the events at the registration posts.

The MDM believes that this is the beginning of creating synergies for future joint work with the aim of winning the next elections, writes Notícias.

In another development, the spokesman denounced the involvement of neighborhood structures in the registration process by threatening his party's inspectors.
