The Kingdom of the Netherlands funds the fight against malnutrition in Sofala

The Kingdom of the Netherlands is funding with more than 14 million meticais projects to combat chronic malnutrition in children under five years of age in Sofala province.

The project to be implemented in the districts of Da Beira, Dondo and Nhamatanda will focus on improving agricultural production by supporting cattle, chicken, fish, vegetables and cereal producers.

The ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Mozambique, Henny Vries, said she intends, with the initiative, to reduce the malnutrition rate, which, at the provincial level, stands at eighteen percent.

The districts of Muanza, Chibabava, Búzi and Gorongosa, are the ones in Sofala province with the highest rates of chronic malnutrition in children under five.
