Reinildo Mandava refused an offer from a Portuguese club

The agent of Reinildo Mandava, Manuel Tomás, Mozambican side of Atlético de Madrid, revealed this Wednesday that the player, before heading to Spain, received an offer from Portugal, although without specifying the club.

"We were in negotiations with six clubs. Atlético was one of them, a very big club from which we had gathered our information. We spoke with Reinildo and presented him with the possibility of going to Atlético de Madrid. He fell in love", Manuel Tomás began by telling us.

Reinildo transferred in January from Lille, with which he was at the end of his contract, to Atlético de Madrid, in an operation that cost about three million euros. However, before committing to Atlético, Reinildo had several proposals on the table, including from Portugal.

"There were many options. Reinildo came from being champion with Lille, he also won the Super Cup against PSG. We had offers from England, Spain, Italy and Portugal, from the best clubs, but he fell in love with Atlético," revealed the player's agent.

Reinildo Mandava, 28, managed to assert himself in the second half of the season in the Spanish capital, playing 21 games for Atlético de Madrid.

In his career, the full-back spent time with Benfica B, Fafe, Covilhã and Belenenses before heading to Lille in 2019, where he won a Ligue 1 and a French Super Cup.
