Census: two weeks to go, floods continue in the center of the country

Recenseamento: a duas semanas do fim, enchentes continuam no centro do país

Some districts in Sofala and Manica continue to see floods of voters, two weeks before the end of voter registration, indicating that in some regions it may not be possible to register all potential voters.

In Buzi, Sofala, CIP correspondents reported "a huge influx of people yesterday, Sunday, and today, just at the EPC census office in the town of Buzi". Those who were arriving today were waiting outside, many showing up in the afternoon to register.

In the district of Machanga, specifically at the voter registration office of the Mapangara Primary School, located in the town where the district is based, there was a lot of excitement among the voters queuing up, which forced an invasion.

The unrest was caused by a group of young people coming to register. They were boarding school students who wanted priority, allegedly because they wanted to go to school. There were huge queues at the post, a feature of this census office in recent days.
