Prime Minister Benvinda Levi said in Parliament today that “of the 10 cases of kidnapping recorded this year, nine have been cleared up and the victims returned to their families.”

She explained that these results are the outcome of the coordinated efforts and actions of the different institutions that guarantee public order, security and tranquillity, as well as the collaboration of the communities.

Still on the fight against crime, Levi said that “826 criminal gangs were neutralized, compared to 679 in 2024. These gangs were involved in committing various crimes, especially robberies using firearms and bladed weapons, homicides, drug trafficking and counterfeiting currency, among others.”.
