Quelimane entre os vencedores do prémio de melhores conquistas de mobilidade

The European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) announced the winners of the ECF awards recognizing outstanding achievements in promoting and enabling cycling at its flagship Velo-city 2024 conference.

For this year, the winners are "1. City of Quelimane; 2. European Parliament, 3. City of Bologna, 4. Metropolis of Lyon, 5. City of Ghent" and "each of these entities was chosen for one of the five categories of excellence in cycling, where Quelimane won the category of Best Active Mobility".

The year 2024 marks the third edition of the ECF Velo-city awards. This year, they were held at the Kuipke Velodrome in the city of Ghent in front of 1,500 delegates.

"People who work tirelessly for more and better cycling across Europe and the world rarely get the recognition they deserve," ECF president Henk Swarttouw, who organized the ceremony with CEO Jill Warren, told Zag Daily.

"The same applies to cities and their leaders who strive to improve conditions for cycling and who make their streets safer for cyclists of all ages and abilities. That's why we, as the ECF, on behalf of all cyclists, pay tribute to the cities of Bologna, Ghent, Lyon and Quelimane and thank them for their leadership, said the leader of the European Cyclists' Federation.
