There is already money for the senior women's basketball team to travel to Mexico, where they will play in the pre-qualifying tournament for the World Cup from the 19th to the 25th of this month. 

The information was provided by the president of the Mozambican Basketball Federation (FMB), Paulo Mazivila, after saying yesterday that the team would not be taking part due to lack of money.

However, in less than 24 hours, the FMB, with the help of the government through the State Secretariat for Sport (SED), managed to scramble to secure the missing amount.

Quoted by "O País", the president of the FMB guaranteed that by the end of tomorrow the whole dossier will be closed. The national team will arrive in Mexico three days before the event kicks off.

It should be noted that for this stage, Mozambique is in Group B of the competition along with hosts Mexico, Montenegro and New Zealand.
