Russia and Ukraine will today enter a new round of face-to-face negotiations being organized by Turkey in order to reestablish order on Ukrainian territory.
Delegations from both countries will meet in Istanbul, according to the Turkish presidency, which maintains reservations about a favorable outcome for both sides.
The main themes of the negotiations may be the neutrality of Ukraine, the abandonment of the idea of joining NATO and the guarantee that the country will not develop nuclear weapons. However, it should be remembered that Kiev has already stated its unwillingness not to give in to any kind of argument aimed at concessions in relation to territorial integrity.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan revealed that there will be a meeting "with the delegations before the meeting" and assured that telephone conversations with Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy "are moving in a positive direction.
The Russian Foreign Minister was less confident in the success of this meeting. Just this Monday, Sergey Lavrov rejected the idea that this would be a good time for the presidents of both countries to meet.
