The Ministry of Transport and Communications launches in the first week of December the Road Surveillance Plan for the festive season with the aim of reducing traffic accidents.
This Saturday, a multi-sector brigade headed by the deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Hamilton Alison, climbed some stretches of the National Road 4 (EN4) to Ressano Garcia and the National Road 1 (EN1), in Maputo province to survey details to enrich the plan.
Among the details is the need to open alternative routes to decongest the two highways and to reinforce road signs.
"We are thinking, among other things, of forcing the trucks to stay in a waiting area that is not exactly on the road, but to the left bank without, of course, blocking the circulation of pedestrians. We are trying to see if we can have an opening in Terminal 4, if it is possible, to have the opening of one of the accesses for the trucks, in the process of entering and exiting the terminal," he said.
