Provedor da Justiça diz que não existe remédio para eliminação brusca da corrupção

Problems related to corruption, nepotism and arrogance are growing in public institutions, but eliminating them takes time.

Isaque Chande, the Ombudsman, said yesterday during his annual report that there was "no remedy for the sudden elimination of these evils".

The source also revealed that the number of complaints sent to the Ombudsman's Office is tending to increase, with 724 complaints being sent in this period (2022 - 2023), compared to 700 in the 2021-2022 period, with Maputo City having the highest number of cases (436) and Maputo Province with 165 cases.

This year, Chande is serving his last term as Ombudsman, which began in 2018.
