PGR case: Agostinho Vuma speaks of attempted obstruction of justice

Processo na PGR: Agostinho Vuma fala em tentativa e obstrução da justiça

The President of the Economic Associations of Mozambique - CTA, Agostinho Vuma, believes that there are some kind of maneuvers to obstruct justice in case no. 2/PGR/22 at the Attorney General's Office (PGR), involving businessman Silvestre Bila.

"Yes. I wanted to confirm that it is the case of Mr. Silvestre Júlio Bila who, unfortunately, has not presented any evidence. It looks like they're trying to cover up the frustrated murder trial that I suffered on July 11, 2020," he said, quoted by TV Sucesso.

Vuma said that in the current case, the PGR points to Silvestre Bila as the perpetrator of the attempted murder. He is thus distancing himself from the information published about the PGR case, which points to him as the perpetrator of an assassination attempt on a Mozambican businessman.

"The victim and the person shot in the face are me, two bullets. This is proven by the ongoing legal proceedings. Everything else is an attempt to obstruct and divert the attention of justice from the real criminal," he clarified, stressing that the news and defamatory lawsuits commissioned, according to Vuma, by Silvestre Bila are false.

On the other hand, Vuma says that he has already had to resort to police force because of home invasions by Bila.

"It's the same citizen who, with criminal intent, has constantly broken into my home. In the case of this case, he broke into two of my homes at dawn. I called the police to get him out of my place. I didn't talk to him, but he went to open proceedings."
