The European Union (EU) is "deeply" concerned about the ongoing violence following the elections in Mozambique, which have resulted in several deaths.

In this regard, it calls on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid the use of force and to refrain from acts of vandalization and the use of inflammatory rhetoric.

The European Union calls on the Constitutional Council to "defend the full transparency of the electoral process and guarantee the integrity of the results." (Press release)
