Since Tuesday, the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) have detained 12 foreign citizens for illegally staying in the country at the 4th Police Station in the Liberdade neighborhood of Maputo province.

The group includes six men and six women, aged between 18 and 45, who were found in a house in the Mussumbuluco neighborhood.

The PRM said they were one Angolan and 11 Congolese citizens. It explained that they were able to locate the citizens thanks to a popular tip-off.

The detainees are awaiting legal proceedings.
