The Renamo district office was surrounded this Sunday (20) by two vehicles of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique, with heavily armed agents.
The reasons for this "stakeout" are scarce, but according to a publication in the Diário da ZambéziaThe action was aimed at banning a possible march, because the period is allegedly not advisable.
In fact, this siege began last Thursday (17), when partridge members and sympathizers wanted to march through some of the city's streets to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the death of Renamo's first president, André Matsangaissa.
It should be noted that the police authorities and the Renamo leadership have yet to comment on the matter.
