The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) on Wednesday (23) called on the Mozambican population to stay away from acts of vandalism, opt for civility, and wait for the official release of the election results.
"The PRM repeatedly discourages acts of vandalism, violence and public disorder in the country," said Orlando Mudumane, spokesman for the PRM General Command.
He called on the people to cooperate with the police authorities and not to allow themselves to be manipulated by individuals of bad faith and criminal conduct, "who spread incendiary speeches and disinformation of various kinds through social networks or digital platforms".
At 2:30 p.m., the National Electoral Commission (CNE) will release the results of the general elections held on October 9.
Today is the first of two consecutive days of general strike action called by Venâncio Mondlane through one of his social networks.
